Our organization, made up of caring citizens, provides educational programs and events, supports the preservation of historical buildings and acquisition of valuable historical artifacts. By becoming a member of the Friends, your support can help make an impact and help support projects like:

  • Hosting nationally renowned speakers and authors such as Walter Isaason, David McCullough, Gordon Wood, and Pulitzer Prize Winner Stacey Schiff
  • Supporting our volunteer projects — such as the Twilight Tours, which provides free tours of the sites around the historic district and Independence Park, and the Peter Nero and the Philly Pops July 3rd Concert on Independence Mall
  • Maintaining Benjamin Franklin's printing press and glass armonica
  • Conservation of two chairs in the Governor's Council Room on the second floor of Independence Hall
  • And, much, much more!!

Some of the Projects that you could donate to are the following:
  • Dorman Fund - an account setup for the specific purpose of the acquisiton and purchasing of artifacts for the permanent collections in Independence National Historical Park.
  • Penny Batchler Architectural Study Collection - This fund was setup in memory of Penny Batchelor and is used for the creation and installation of an Architectural exhibit to be placed here in the park.
  • Park Horticultural - Besides our historic buildings, our national park is a picturesque oasis in the middle of Philadelphia.  To maintain our gardens and to provide beautiful coverage for our visitors, we have setup this fund to provide additional support to the landscape
