The Friends of Independence was sadden to learn about the passing of our Friend Dolores M. Kohlhas.

DOLORES M., age 84, of Willow Street, formerly of Downing-town, passed away on February 11, 2013, at her home. Born in Philadelphia on March 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Elsie (nee Wagner) Meder. Dolores was an alumna of Frankford High School and Ursinus College '49. She was a substitute teacher for the Downingtown Schools in the 1960's and 70's. Dolores was past President of the Downingtown Women's Club and Pennsylvania Federation of Women's Clubs and a board member for the Independence Hall Preservation Fund.
Beloved wife of the late David M. Kohlhas. Survived by her children, Nancy Gatschet and John (Jenifer), both of Philadelphia; daughter-in-law, Susan of Glenmore; 7 grand-children and 2 great grand-children. She is predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Kohlhas.


Relatives and friends are invited to Dolores's Life Celebration Friday, February 15, 2013, from 6 to 8 P.M., at RALSTON & BREDICKAS FUNERAL HOME, 107 W. Lancaster Ave., Down-ingtown PA. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 16, at 11 A.M., at BRINGHURST FUNERAL HOME, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd PA 19004. Interment West Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Friends of Independence National Historical Park, 143 S. 3rd St., Philadelphia PA 19106 www.friendsofindependence.org
